TESTIMONIALS.

PROFESSIONAL LIST.

From Sir GEORGE BURROWS, Bart., M.D., Camb., B.A., D.C.L., Oxon. F.R.S., F.R.C.P., London; President of the Royal College of Physicians, London, Physician to the Queen, Consulting Physician to St. Bartholo mew's Hospital, late President of the General Medical Council of Education, c.

18, CAVENDISH SQUARE, June, 1874.

I hereby certify that I have known Mr. E. H. Lineker since 1858, and I believe him to be a gentleman of character, and sound professional know- ledge; he pursued his medical studies at St. Bartholomew's Hospital and College, under my observation, and made himself well informed in the science and practice of medicine and surgery. Mr. L. has since enjoyed large opportunities of practical experience in his profession, and in proof that he has not neglected his more strictly scientific knowledge, he satis factorily passed a prolonged examination at the Royal College of Physicians, London, in Autumn, 1872, and has since been admitted a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. I consider that he is in all respects highly qualified for the appointment of Surgeon to any public institution,

GEO. BURROWS, M.D., F.R.S., &c.,

President of the Royal College of Physicians.

(Signed)

To E. H. LINEXER, Esq.

From R. BRUDENELL CARTER, Esq., F.R.C.S. Eng., Opthalmic Surgeon to St. George's Hospital, Surgeon to the Royal South London Opthalmic Hospital, and Lecturer on Opthalmic Surgery at St. George's Hospital, &c., &c., &c.

69, WIMPOLE STREET, CAVENDISH SQUARE, June, x874.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Mr. E. H. Lineker for the last fourteen years as a medical and surgical practitioner of wuch skill and carefulness, and I have had many opportunities in the public appointments he has held of observing how well he discharged the duties appertaining to his official post, that I consider his professional position and experience to be such as fully to entitle him to hold the appointment of Physician or Surgeon to any public institution.
